The manual is the maintenance schedule
Appliances that look similar can have different self-cleaning, descaling and filter procedures. Keep the exact model manual and follow its intervals. More chemical or more frequent deep cleaning is not automatically better.
User maintenance should stay within removable filters, accessible seals, approved cleaners and visual checks. Service panels, gas components, refrigerant systems and live electrical testing belong with qualified technicians.
Laundry and dishwashing habits
Empty pockets, use the correct detergent and dose, keep washer door seals clean, and avoid persistent overloading. Clean user-accessible pump filters only as directed. For dryers, clean lint filters every load and maintain condenser or heat-exchanger filters on schedule.
Scrape large debris from dishes, keep spray arms free to turn, and clean the dishwasher filter. Use dishwasher salt only on models and water settings that require it. Refill rinse aid as indicated rather than compensating with extra detergent.

Cooking, refrigeration and ventilation
Wipe spills after cooking surfaces cool, keep burner caps correctly seated and avoid foil over oven vents. Clean rangehood grease filters on the schedule suitable for your cooking; replace non-washable filters rather than soaking them.
Give fridges the clearances specified by the manufacturer, keep internal vents open and clean accessible seals gently. Do not chip frost or use heat guns. Make sure doors close fully and avoid placing hot food against temperature sensors.
Early service can limit secondary damage
A noisy bearing, intermittent fan, small leak or unreliable ignition may damage other components if ignored. Stop sooner for burning smells, smoke, electrical trips, gas smells, overheating or active leaks.
